Nerves, the heart, and the brain are electrical. How do these things work? This course presents fundamental principles, described quantitatively.

Dear FIX,

Thank you for registering for Coursera/Bioelectricity. As you know, the course site opens to students on Monday, September 24, less than a week from today. In preparation for the first week those of us here at Duke have been busy preparing video segments, entering questions, and otherwise trying to get organized. So that we can know you better, we will appreciate it if you will take 5 minutes to complete our survey, so that we know better you and the other students who have enrolled.

The survey link is http://bit.ly/bioelectricity2012

I am certain that you will find Bioelectricity a fascinating subject if we can present it to you well, and if you will bring your patience and imagination to what is, most likely, a study of biology and electricity that is completely different from what you have done before. Once again, welcome. We (including Zahra, Zachary, Amy, Elise, Chris and me too) are very glad you are going to join us.

Roger Coke Barr, Professor
Duke University and Instructor for Coursera/Duke
